From the VMAs to a jail cell!
Jesse Helt, who Miley Cyrus brought to the VMAs to highlight youth homelessness, turned himself into jail after news broke over an outstanding warrant.
The 22-year-old Jesse had an outstanding warrant in Oregon after he violated his probation from earlier charges. He was originally arrested for criminal mischief and criminal trespassing.
He was booked at the Polk County Jail in Dallas, Oregon and released an hour later after posting 10% of his bond–$2,500 of the $25,000 bail.
Miley won the MTV VMA award for Video of the Year and Jesse accepted the award for her, telling the audience that he is accepting it “on behalf of 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth who are starving, lost and scared right now.”
